So I made a decision the other day to go organic and natural, chemical-free with my hair, skin and body care products, for a number of reasons. I'm a rather lazy environmentalist/animal rights activist, who is concerned with the impact my vanity is having on our planet, and I disagree with any form of testing on animals for cosmetic purposes.
So I burned my credit card out at Myer and Lush, buying the Trilogy line, and some wonderful smelling vegan products. My concern is that I have very reactive skin, so I'm a bit worried about what I'm doing to my skin, but so far, body wise I feel wonderfully moisturised and soft, my skin doesn't have that itchy, tight, pull-y feeling that I often get from body washes, and it appears that I can even go without body moisturiser, which is great because it's so freezing in my bathroom in winter, I'm really not in the mood for slathering on lotions.
And as for my face...I've never been so happy with the gorgeous sheen on my skin as I have been since using the Trilogy Rosehip Oil. It remains to be seen whether I will break out, but I feel glowy, and I haven't even been wearing makeup. Which is a HUGE deal because anyone who knows me knows that I am totally vain and paranoid about my skin. It's been my dream for AGES to look pretty without makeup, and I'm hoping that we're getting there :)
Also, I got the seal of approval from my boyfriend, because apparently I smell and taste "yummy" rather than like "flowery tasting wax" so that's great.
The only thing I'm concerned about is expiry dates- because the products have no chemicals in them, they only last for like a maximum of 6 months, which I have a few concerns about. I'm worried that they might not all be used up before they expire, or that I'll forget when they expire and end up with some dreadful and ugly skin condition because of I've used products that are "off". Can anyone help me out with that please?
I hope I haven't spawned a monster with this, I'm highly tempted to fully embrace the organic lifestyle and spend the rest of my days makeup and product free living in my veggie garden!
Just kidding.....sort of :D
